While we were in Buckhorn Lock 31, you will see people walking across the top of the lock gates while the lock chamber is filing. A very typical sight throughout the Trent-Severn Waterway. Refreshing compared to what would be seen at home in the U.S. (... before crossing the lock, you'd have to sign something taking responsibility for your own actions, then there would be a wait until the lock stopped operating, and there would be all sorts of fencing to prevent slipping in under the handrails - ugh!)
