Getting to the Pilot House Marina on Key Largo was interesting. The half-mile channel to the marina was so narrow that only one boat our size could go through at a time. We waited outside the channel for 3 boats to come out, then we went in with a couple of others that were also waiting.  The entire channel has small alleyways off both sides that are used by the homeowners for their small motorboats or sailboats. Finally the channel opens into a larger area for commercial fishing and tour boats, as well as the slips at Pilot House Marina. We found ourselves at a laidback place with very nice people, a casual atmosphere and a lot of cats, which annoyed Bo to no end! There were even a couple cats that would hold their own ground while Bo walked by (on leash) barking and jumping at them. It's a good thing he was on leash because these cats may have come out on top if he got to them!

With more strong winds in the area, we stayed for a couple of days.  This is the first time I’ve done laundry in a breezeway next to a fuel dock instead inside in a building. New experiences are exciting! The Pilot House restaurant was good and had a great band on Saturday night that we could also hear back on the boat … so we were thankful that they were fun to listen to!

Time to continue north back to mainland Florida!
