We departed Georgetown on May 17 in good weather. Georgetown was a town we could have easily stayed another day, but we needed to keep pushing on.

Just before 10AM, we encountered a string of 14 Grady-Whites (sporting boats about 21-33 feet long) heading in the opposite direction along the Waccamaw River. They must have been on there way to a GW get together! Other than that, our travels along the ICW provided the usual sources of entertainment: big flies, interesting bridges, and some very nice scenery. Sue and Bo worked part of the day to get us caught up on our Blog.

We had to find a place to stay one night on our trip between Georgetown and Southport NC. Myrtle Beach was a good midway point with a nice marina. It also had two very positive attributes:

1) There was a grocery store less than ½ mile away allowing us to restock;

2) There is a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse at the marina. Not only was the Ruth’s Chris at the marina, it was less than 50 yards away and the end of our dock! (see photo). If there was ever a time to get meat drunk, this was it.

We made a quick trip to the grocery store and then enjoyed a great diner at Ruth’s Chris that evening.
